Job Summary
The role of the Engineer is to complete installation activities (installing, servicing and de-fleeting) of various Telematics on Board Units (OBU) in vehicles owned or operated by customers of Trak Global Security Solutions. Primarily these vehicles are in the fleet, rental, mobility and insurance sectors. Installation activity typically takes place at customer premises and regional vehicle storage centres.
This position is to cover the South East (primarily covering areas between South Essex & Kent). Working at the forefront of automotive innovation, engineering cutting-edge solutions for high-performance, luxury, and bespoke vehicles.
Duties:
- Installation Activities:Carry out installation of tracking devices within the allocated region, adhering to company standards and procedures.
- Device Removal:Remove tracking devices from vehicles at the end of their lifecycle or as required.
- Vehicle Assessment:Assess the operational status and suitability of vehicles for tracking device installation or removal.
- Standards Compliance:Ensure all installations meet required technical and safety standards.
- Stock Management:
- Maintain accurate records of current stock levels.
- Manage personal inventory to ensure sufficient device availability for the weekly work schedule.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Ensure company vehicle is regularly maintained and serviced.
- Promptly report any fault codes or mechanical issues to management.
- Data Recording:Accurately document installation details to support effective tracking and reporting.
- Issue Reporting:Report any operational issues or incidents to management immediately.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
-
- Experience of electrical device installation. Ideally in automotive
- Ability to manage weekly diary of work
- Results/metrics driven, and solutions focused.
- Strong organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams.
- CRB check to be carried out.
Desirable
- AVI Accredited
