Bri-Stor Systems, part of The HEX Group, is the UK's largest converter of lightweight commercial vehicles. For over 40 years, we've been designing and manufacturing industry-leading solutions for some of the biggest fleet operators across the UK.
As our order book continues to grow, we're looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Engineering team and play a key role in developing innovative vehicle conversion and storage systems.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on exciting projects from concept through to production, collaborating with customers, vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver world-class solutions.

What You'll Be Doing
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll take ownership of the electrical design and development elements of vehicle conversion projects, ensuring solutions meet customer requirements, compliance standards, and production needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
✓ Designing and maintaining electrical drawings and wiring diagrams for manufacturing operations
✓ Developing, capturing, and maintaining vehicle loom designs
✓ Creating and managing electrical Bills of Materials (BOMs)
✓ Supporting prototype builds and first-off vehicle production
✓ Ensuring all electrical components meet relevant legislation, approvals, and type approval requirements
✓ Providing technical expertise to internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and vehicle manufacturers
✓ Supporting the Sales team with customer specifications and technical reviews
✓ Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key contracts
✓ Working closely with Production teams to improve efficiency, quality, and right-first-time performance
✓ Researching and introducing new technologies to maintain Bri-Stor's position as an industry innovator
✓ Monitoring project costs and supporting Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) activities
✓ Contributing to the continuous improvement of Engineering systems and processes

Essential Skills & Experience
- Electrical Engineering qualification and/or relevant industry experience
- Strong technical problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- High attention to detail
- Good IT skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Desirable

- Experience using SolidWorks
- Knowledge of automotive or vehicle electrical systems
- Experience working within engineering or manufacturing environments
