AVI Signs Armed Forces Covenant
AVI SIGNS THE ARMED FORCES COVENANT TO STRENGTHEN SUPPORT FOR SERVICE PERSONNEL, VETERANS AND FAMILIES
The Association of Vehicle Installers (AVI) has formally signed the Armed Forces Covenant, reinforcing its commitment to fair treatment, opportunity and support for the UK’s Armed Forces community.
AVI, the professional member organisation representing vehicle installation and conversion engineers across the UK, has today announced it has signed the Armed Forces Covenant — a national promise that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
The signing marks a significant step for the organisation, which works across a sector that supports a wide range of mission-critical fleets and specialist vehicle applications where safety, reliability and compliance are non-negotiable.
A commitment to fairness and opportunity
By signing the Covenant, AVI is pledging to uphold fairness, respect and opportunity for those connected to the Armed Forces — including serving personnel, reservists, veterans and their families. The organisation also highlighted the value that service leavers bring into the vehicle engineering and installation industry, including technical capability, discipline, leadership and problem-solving under pressure.
AVI’s commitment includes supporting pathways into employment and training, recognising transferable skills, and encouraging best practice across employers and the wider supply chain.
Supporting standards in high-demand environments
AVI promotes professional standards, training and accreditation across the specialist vehicle installation sector. Many engineers and businesses within the industry work on vehicles that operate in challenging and high-pressure environments, where quality of workmanship and adherence to standards is vital.
AVI says signing the Covenant formalises its long-standing recognition of the link between national service and British industry — ensuring that its commitment extends beyond frameworks and standards to the people who underpin operational excellence.
Building stronger partnerships for the future
Joining the Armed Forces Covenant community connects AVI to a national network of organisations working to support the defence community. AVI plans to continue strengthening partnerships, expanding training and development opportunities, and promoting an inclusive professional environment that recognises and supports the Armed Forces community within the vehicle installation and conversion sector.
